When getting married, there are lots of things to consider… Which venue do you want to book? What style of dress should you wear? Who’s going to make the guestlist? But have you thought about the kind of ceremony you’ll be having?
My bet is the answer is no, even though it's making those promises to one another which is what it's all about! Perhaps you thought the options were fairly standard - a church service, or a civil ceremony with a reading and a nice piece of music. Maybe you didn’t even know you had a choice! But there are so many ways to exchange your vows and make your commitment to your partner, and they can be fun, original and really personal too.

Sharon Gordon is a celebrant based in the West Midlands who offers relaxed and laid-back ceremonies for the “wild at heart”. Her goal is to celebrate your individuality, to create an environment where you feel comfortable making your vows, and to give you the confidence to make the promises you want to make to your partner in the way that makes you feel happiest.
A celebrant-led wedding will allow you to tailor your ceremony to your own tastes and values; you can rip up the rule book and create a celebration that really reflects yourselves, your families and your own personal preferences. The celebrant will take the time to get to know both parties and it's their job is to make your wedding more focused on YOU. To tell your story, to involve your friends and families, and to incorporate the elements that you should choose to make your day special, symbolic and specific to you.

With her own keen interest in nature, Sharon specialises in outdoor ceremonies - festival style tipis and whimsical woodland weddings that have charm and personality. But she can perform her duties wherever you may choose, and is a preferred supplier for four fabulous Midlands venues including Elmbridge Farm and Alcott Weddings & Events.
Because Sharon takes the time to get to know you your ceremony can be very personal, so you can feel free to be as cheeky, silly or as sentimental as you wish! Sharon will talk you through writing your own vows and help you to tell your story in the way you want it told. And what's wonderful is that, whilst you can rehearse the bits you want to say, your partner will be hearing your words for the first time as you are about to tie the knot. Suddenly it's about so much more than reading and repeating the vows we all know but telling your loved one what you really want to say and hearing their words said back to you, creating very special and touching moments.
Sharon will also have various suggestions of gestures and rituals you may wish to include such as ring warming, handfasting or candle ceremonies which are symbolic, meaningful and allow your families and guests to become an important part of your special day too.
