It’s no secret that I am a huge foodie, and I love that the street food scene has been booming in the last few years. Birmingham has become an absolute melting pot for food from around the world - it’s one of the things I love most about our city! But sometimes you just can’t beat a bit of British grub and thanks to these guys and their famous “ Pies & Sides”, Britain and indeed Birmingham are staying on the map!
They may be based in Brum but Pietanic operate across the UK, with the help of Claude - their fabulous van! They can be spotted at festivals, food halls and stadiums around the country serving up some proper pie. If they seem familiar, you may well have seen them at Digbeth Dining Club or even Edgbaston and Twickenham cricket grounds.
They’ve done a load of corporate stuff too, for some pretty big name clients. They can be hired out privately to add an exciting foodie experience to any kind of event. And they cater for weddings, too! As much as I love a traditional wedding breakfast, I love seeing couples add their own personality to their day by experimenting with street food options, or going for something a little different in the evening to another beige buffet! And your guests are guaranteed to be wowed by these guys.
I was super impressed by the way businesses like Pietanic were handling the Coronavirus situation and how they stepped up in what was such a trying time. These guys were soon sending out deliveries of their favourite flavours, which was not only good news for them but also amazing news for us, as we got to enjoy our street food faves from the comfort of our own sofa! They teamed up with other vendors, too, to create some super exciting menus and once a month they set out to deliver delicious doorstep drops to Brum and beyond. And you can even wash it down with their own beer!
We can't wait to see them back on the road soon, but for now there’s loads more info on what these guys do on their website, Facebook and Instagram.
