Let’s face it guys, with the British weather you can never guarantee glorious sunshine on your wedding day. Not even in the middle of summer. And the last thing you want is to be freezing cold (I’m thinking of all you brides in your sleeveless dresses!), especially if you’re choosing to get married in a tipi or outdoor venue. Which is why I am obsessed with the pictures I see of brides in lovely leather or dainty denim jackets that have been personalised to look fabulous on their big day!
I had assumed it was tricky to get these made… until I came across Paper Ink Alchemy at a local wedding fayre. Lottie was there displaying lots of gorgeous handmade pieces, with her jackets taking pride of place. And it’s safe to say, I am hooked! Worcestershire based Lottie has a beautiful online store and Etsy shop where she sells incredible handmade pieces made mostly of paper, ink “and a little bit of alchemy”. Drawings, paintings, origami, pictures, prints and papercuts - there is an amazing array of artwork available that all have a magical or celestial quality about them. Not only does she make and create all of her own pieces but she also heads up the Worcestershire Etsy team where she helps champion other local makers as well. You can often find them at fayres and markets, so keep an eye out for those too!
Having been approached about creating a bespoke leather jacket, (and doing an amazing job of it!), Lottie now offers them for other brides too. They’re able to be personalised with your own words, colours or design and can include some super sweet or funny personal touches that make them totally unique to you. And they’re totally in keeping with a wedding - I love seeing a bride who can rock a gorgeous dress and leather jacket combo. And it’s such a wonderful thing to be able to keep once the day is over.
Make sure you give Paper Ink Alchemy a follow, and look out for Lottie at local fayres and craft markets too. Find her on Facebook, Instagram, Etsy, Folksy or on her website.
