I spend so much of my time chatting about weddings, but now I want to talk to you about a very, very special one...
In 2015 my sister got married on what turned out to be a very sunny May Bank Holiday weekend, and it was a truly magical event. Think string quartet as she walked down the aisle, cocktails in the sunshine by the lake and being the last ones dragged off the dancefloor in the early hours of the morning. The whole thing was captured by Lucy G Photography, and I think you’ll agree the results are absolutely stunning!
With a base in both Cheshire and Herefordshire, Lucy frequently captures weddings in both these areas and across the UK. Her style is a mixture of portraiture and reportage resulting in gorgeous, natural photographs which are soft and serene but capture every smile and laugh so beautifully! Some of my favourite photos of my sister’s wedding are of the hilarious reactions to the best man’s speech and the ridiculous poses the hen party ladies created in our group photos. But those of the bride and groom, the flower girls and the page boys and of the stunning scenery around us were nothing short of exquisite.
The thing I remember most about Lucy was how relaxed she made us all feel. She was doing her thing while we were all getting ready, pulling out her little tools to get the perfect shots, but not intruding in any way. In fact, it was just like having another of your best mates hanging out with you on the morning of the wedding! We chatted all throughout the day and she made the whole thing so much fun, but she was there to snap every moment and didn’t miss a trick. Lucy captures so many wonderful photos of her brides and grooms at sunset, and has some stunning photos of sparklers in the evenings too. (I have vague recollections of running circles around the happy couple with lights in my hand to help Lucy create some really stunning shots!) From the moment we began putting on our makeup to the moment the DJ started playing, Lucy caught every moment on camera and has helped us remember the special day in the best possible way.
Although it's been a tough year for those who work in weddings, if you pop to Lucy’s social pages you’ll see she’s been giving out lots of great tips and sharing her amazing photography tricks. And she also offers family & newborn portraits with her project William & Willow.
Make sure you take a look at her Facebook, Instagram and her website to see more of her amazing wedding photography and don't hesitate to enquire!
